Istanbul Race 7

Race 7

Stake: -

MELONCITTO (1) sets the standard after winning here over 1500m 19 days ago in 2Y COND 5 from barrier 5 under 58kg, and he again draws well. HAVASUPAI (3) chased MELONCITTO (1) home in that race when 2nd at Istanbul over 1500m carrying 60kg and drops to a low draw, with recent 4th in Ankara Group 2 adding depth. WHITEWALKERS (6) has been consistent at Istanbul (1 win, 4 seconds, 2 thirds) and comes off a 3rd over 1400m on 4 Oct; his strong jockey record is a plus. VICTORY OF TOMO (5) maps well from barrier 1 and was runner‑up over 1400m at Istanbul on 4 Oct, returning to a track where he’s a winner.

Comes here in strong nick this season (3:2-0-0) and is unbeaten at Istanbul 1500m, winning a 2Y COND 5 from barrier 5 last time. Also boasts prior wins at Bursa 1100m and Kocaeli 1400m, and draws barrier 5 again with 58kg. Progressive profile suggests he can hold form off the 19-day break.

Best recent effort was 4th at Istanbul over 1400m on 4 Oct (TB, 57kg) from barrier 7 behind Rattlesnake, and he draws slightly better in 6 here. Returns to 1500m for the first time since Kocaeli on 15 Sep, and comes in 3kg lighter than that run. Solid enough platform to hold a spot in running and be competitive late.

Consistent 2YO with a solid Istanbul profile (track 3:0-2-1) and a narrow 2nd over today’s 1500m here last start in 2Y COND 5, carrying 60kg behind Meloncitto. Comes back to Istanbul from a 2Y GROUP 2 1400m in Ankara where he finished 4th, and draws barrier 2 with 57kg; well placed to be competitive again.

Back from an 11-day turnaround with barrier 4, having boxed on for 4th of 5 at Izmir over 1200m in a 2Y COND. Earlier prep includes a 2nd of 4 at Bursa over 1200m on good going, and a 4th of 6 at Ankara over 1400m, suggesting some versatility. Honest efforts so far and a soft draw could help him hold a position and stick on.

Returned to form last start at Istanbul (1400m, TB) when 2nd from barrier 2 under 57kg, chasing home Rattlesnake. Earlier this prep also placed 2nd over 1200m at Istanbul from the inside draw, and now maps to get a soft run again from barrier 1 with Mehmet Akyavuz up. Proven at the track (8:1-2-1) and drawn to run well.

Proven at Istanbul with a solid track record (7:3-2-0) and draws well in barrier 3. Won over 1300m here on 26 Aug (TB, 55kg) before a 2nd over the same trip on 9 Oct, and has twice run into Rattlesnake at 1400m. Back to 1300m suits on the 12-day turnaround, and the profile looks consistent for another honest showing.
